Sports is a way for our indigenous brothers to find an outlet to their daily struggle for survival. The parish of Apostolos Barnabas in the village Ueda, Iringa in Central Tanzania within the actions and efforts, after the Most Reverend Bishop of Arusha Mr. Agathonikos’ prompting, organized their own football team and many of the locals participated with great enthusiasm.
Recently, volunteers from the Iringa Missionary Centre of Iringa visited the parish of Apostolos Barnabas and held a food drive in addition to distributing athletic equipment and gear for the needs of the football team.
The food drive and the athletic equipment and gear were an offering from our brothers:
-Athanasios in favor of rest for his father, Antonios
-Andreas Vafeiadis in favor of rest of Margarita
