For the pastoral and liturgical needs of our indigenous brethren in Tanzania, the translation and publication of liturgical texts into Swahili have become imperative, including the Menaion, the Parakletike (Octoechos), the Horologion, the Euchologion, and many other sacred services.
With the conviction that the richness of Orthodoxy must be shared, we have undertaken the translation and publication of patristic and liturgical works, such as the Divine Liturgy, the Service of Supplication (Paraklesis), Compline, the Akathist Hymn to the Theotokos, the book “Christ Is Everything” by Saint Porphyrios, a volume on the Orthodox Faith by Archimandrite Epiphanios Chatzigiangou, and a small booklet containing miracles of Saint Nektarios. Furthermore, additional works of the Holy Fathers of our Church and of contemporary Elders are currently in the process of translation.
A significant milestone in the field of publications has been the reissue, revision, and expansion of the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom in Swahili. The new edition includes the apolytikia and kontakia of the Feasts of the Lord and of the Most Holy Theotokos, as well as various liturgical prayers, intended to meet the liturgical needs of the faithful.
