A DROP OF LOVE BECOMES A RIVER THAT QUENCH MANY THIRSTY CHILDREN!
Hope That Springs Forth
The existence of clean water is not something taken for granted in the poor and parched regions of sub-Saharan Africa. Even a single drop is a “precious pearl” for our native brothers and sisters — especially for the little children!
Many people, including young children, walk several kilometers every day with a bucket on their head just to secure the much-needed water for their entire family’s needs. It is not uncommon for this water to come from the muddy waters of a river that is drying up due to drought. Drawing water becomes difficult, as they press into the mud in hopes of extracting even a single drop.
With the support and help of the Association’s members and many donors, about 20 boreholes have been drilled throughout the geographical region of the Diocese, and a water supply network has been built, from which the villages surrounding the missionary center of Iringa now receive water.
But the need does not stop there! Beside those who now drink clean water, there are still others waiting for a drop of hope — a hand of love, a miracle to quench their thirst.
Let us not remain indifferent. Let us continue this effort together. No matter how small our offering, in their eyes it becomes a source of life. Every drop of water that flows from these boreholes is a gift from God and the result of a living faith and brotherhood — something we are all called to demonstrate. Offer a few drops of life, so that hope may continue to spring forth.
