With a sense of responsibility and consistency towards the missionary work, we continue tirelessly—together—the offering of love and support to the Diocese of Arusha and Central Tanzania.
This past weekend, meals were offered in two villages of Iringa. Specifically, meals were distributed at the Church of Saint Panteleimon in Ilalasimba and the Church of Saints Anargyroi in Mapogoro, a community primarily inhabited by members of the Maasai tribe.
It is worth noting the Christian practice that has prevailed in this village: the baptism of children at a young age, as is customary in our homeland.
These meals were prepared and offered thanks to the love and generosity of our brothers and sisters:
- Garyfallia Konstantinidou, in memory of her departed relatives
- Students of Karitsa Elementary School
- Kalliopi Lamni, in memory of Nikolaos and other relatives
- Anonymous donor, in memory of Eleni, Konstantinos, Eleftheria, and Souzana
The Missionary Shelter of Saint Dionysios of Olympus thanks the devout donors who, through their actions, offered relief to hundreds of our fellow human beings. We pray that God may rest the souls of their departed loved ones, whose names were commemorated during the Divine Liturgy.
We especially commend the efforts of the young students and teachers of Karitsa Elementary School, who—despite their young age—were motivated and offered meals for our suffering fellow humans in Tanzania. At the same time, they sent a powerful message of hope for the future, for children are the citizens of tomorrow.
May the example of all of you inspire others to act with the same love and generosity.
