“ST. NIKOLAOS OF IRINGA” POLYCLINIC
People of all ages suffer ordies of diseases such as AIDS, malaria, typhoid, etc., thus having as a result the fact that the number of the orphans is increasing day by day. The case of the post humous children -infants born subsequent to the death of the mother-is very tragic.
For this purpose, the establishment of the polyclinic was completed, with the assistance of the Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, in the name of St. Nikolaos, at the Mission Center of Kindamali, Iringa, in order to cover the ever-increasing needs of hundreds of people who arrive here daily. The polyclinic was inaugurated by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, in May 2020, during his pastoral tour at the Holy Diocese of Arusha and Central Tanzania.
Through the actions of our Association, the struggle to procure medical devices for the equipment of the necessary laboratory and other departments that are to be created in the clinic, such as department of ophthalmology, gynecology, emergency department, microsurgery, etc. The patients who arrive to the clinic daily are provided, free of charge, with the necessary medication, which are bought with the donations from members of our Association.
Our goal is to creates mall medical centers in various villages and to find donors for the purchase of a mobile health unit in order to meet the medical/healthcare needs in remote/inaccessible areas.
Last, the financial support of native doctors in order for them to travel toGreece, so that they experience the European medical and health care system and to become more qualified for the service of our needy brothers and sisters in Tanzania, is an innovative project for our Association.
