The Jordan almonds that turned into food

On Saturday, 28th September, it was held a Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Saint Ioannis the Theologian, in the village Ibogo, in the regional unit of Iringa. The Liturgy attended believers and priests from the near parishes and orthodox students from the village’s primary school.

After the Divine Liturgy, it was held litany and was offered meal by the just-marriedcouple Stavros Makridakis and Maria-Anna Zouridi from Crete. The meal swaped the Jordan almonds out. A symbolic and full of love movement from a young couple, in an era when the personal convenience and the one-sided securing of the tangible goods keeps us apart from the pain and the needs of the others. Our children, as a token of gratitude, created a banner, under the guidance of father Nikiphoros who speaks greek, in order to convey on their own way their wishes for the newly married couple, that did not forget to invite our native brothers from Tanzania.

We would like to congratulate them for their kind gesture and wish that the Lord, with the mediation of St Dionysius of Olympus bless their weddinf and their family!
