Highly successful was the Missionary Colloquium that was held on 1st November at the Reception Hall “Pierida” in Katerini by the Missionary Shelter of Sth Dionysius of Olympus. The official guest was Most Reverent Elder Efraim from the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi.
In the event were participated teachers and students from the Ascosiation of Scholar and Ecclesiastical Music “Romanos o Melodos” (Romanos the Melodist) from Thessaloniki.
Salutations were being addresses to the people by Eminence Metropolitan Bishop of Tripoli Theofylaktos, representing his Divine Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of the Great City of Alexandria Theodore II, Metropolitan Bishop of Nea Krini and Kalamaria Ioustinos and Reverend Archimandrite Varnavas Leontiadis, Chancellor of H.M. of Kitros.
Subsequently, Reverent Elder Efraim from Vatopedi proceeded to the main speech “Messages from Mount Athos”, conveying to the attendees, which overrun the Hall, experiences of the ascetic monk life. Beneficial messages for the spiritual fight of each believer.
Afterwards, His Eminence Bishop of Arusha and Central Tanzania Agathonikos, presented with vivid way the progress of the Missionary Work in Central Tanzania and the aims for the future, while he was referred to the temptations and the obstacles of the missioners. His Eminence expressed his gratitude to Most Reverent Elder Efraim from Vatopedi for the diverse support, spiritual and material, to the Missionary Work of the Holy Diocese of Arusha.
A relevant documentary produced by the Missionary Shelter was presented, showing the actions and the works in Central Tanzania.
Lastly, the Most Reverent of the Holy Monastery of Sth Dionysius of Olympus Elder Maximos, as president of the Missionary Shelter, concluded the colloquium by referring the work and the great character of His Eminence Bishop of Arusha Agathonikos, brother of the Holy Monastery. He also expressed his garditude to the Elder Efraim from Vatopedi for his attendance to this event and his constant support, as also to all the members of the Shelters and the attendees for their diverse assistance.
The presentation was held by Father Efraim, while the whole coordination of the event was held by Holly Father Porfyrios, Chancellor of the Holly Diocese of Arusha and Holy Deacon Maximos, brothers of the Holy Monastery of Sth Dionysius of Olympus.
