The feast day of Saint Dionysios of Olympus in Central Tanzania

Our Orthodox brothers in Central Tanzania honored the memory of Saint Dionysius of Olympus, the patron of our association, “Missionary Home of Saint Dionysius of Olympus”, and the founder of our Holy Monastery. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in all the parishes of the Metropolis.

His Eminence, Metropolitan Agathonikos of Arusha, presided over Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the Holy Cross in the village of Mankogati in the Iringa region. In his sermon to the faithful, he highlighted the figure of Saint Dionysius as a shining example of ascetic life and as an indefatigable intercessor for the missionary work of the Church. As customary, a “love meal” followed, offered by the team of the Missionary Home in Stuttgart, Germany, led by Mrs. Sara Amanatidou.

Our Tanzanian brothers came to the parishes to honor Saint Dionysius, recognizing him as their spiritual protector and benefactor, who blesses the missionary work and strengthens the laborers of the Gospel in the challenging yet blessed fields of mission work. Participation in the services was deeply moving, showing that veneration of the Saint remains alive within the local community.

Our association steadfastly and continuously supports the pastoral and charitable work of the Holy Metropolis of Arusha in Central Tanzania. All these efforts are blessed by Saint Dionysius of Olympus, who intercedes for all those laboring for the spread of the Gospel and the relief of the needs of our brothers and sisters.

May, through his intercessions, God’s blessing strengthen our African brothers, fortify their faith, and illuminate every step they take toward His truth.
