Our new borehole in Ilalasimba

With profound emotion and praise to the All-Good God, we joyfully announce the completion of a borehole-drilling project in the village of Ilalasimba in Central Tanzania, on the grounds of the Holy Church of Saint Panteleimon. This is a project of life, of love and hope, aimed at alleviating the daily needs of the inhabitants of an arid region where water is a precious and scarce resource.

This well was funded by the Saint Dionysios Missionary Foundation in Olympus and is part of the ongoing care of the local Church and His Eminence, Metropolitan Agathonikos of Arusha, for creating boreholes in villages across his Province, where people are forced to walk long distances under the scorching sun to secure a little water for their families and to meet their basic living needs.

The blessing of the borehole was performed by His Eminence Metropolitan Agathonikos. Many villagers came to express their gratitude to him. In simple and heartfelt words, the village chief thanked him on behalf of all, emphasizing that this project fundamentally changes their daily lives.

We express special gratitude to the donor of this project, Mr. Voinea Bogdan from Romania, who, with generosity and genuine Christian spirit, provided financial support for the drilling of the well. His contribution is tangible proof that love in Christ knows no borders or racial distinctions, but unites and strengthens the hearts of people in service to the suffering brother. We pray that the Lord, the Giver of every good gift, rewards him abundantly and grants him and his family health, peace, and spiritual fruitfulness.

Let us continue with the same faith, unity, and love in supporting the missionary work of the Holy Metropolis of Arusha. The needs remain great, and thirst—both physical and spiritual—continues to challenge our brothers and sisters. Through our participation and contributions, we can bring relief to every suffering person and hope to every hurting child.

Let us therefore move forward with trust in God’s grace and a spirit of selfless service, so that the light of faith and charity may shine in every corner of the world.
