By the grace of God and the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Agathonikos of Arusha, the Holy Metropolis organized a special graduation celebration for the students of the secondary school located near the Missionary Center in Kindamali.
The day began with the Divine Liturgy at the Missionary Center, during which students, parents, teachers, and clergy gave thanks to God for the successful completion of the school year. This was followed by the graduation ceremony, a modest and moving event held on the school grounds, where the children received their official graduation documents from the Orthodox Church. According to Tanzanian tradition, students receive graduation certificates both from the state and from the local religious authority to which they belong. The ecclesiastical certificate, signed by His Eminence Metropolitan Agathonikos, serves as a reminder to the children of their spiritual identity and the Church’s support in every aspect of their lives.
After the celebration, all students—regardless of religious background—joined in a communal meal offered by the Mission’s soup kitchen. The meal was lovingly prepared by the volunteers of the Missionary Center, with support from an anonymous donor, in memory of Panagiotis and Thomas. Additionally, the children were given icons, religious books, and the Divine Liturgy translated into their language, Swahili.
The Missionary Shelter of Saint Dionysios of Olympus continues to strengthen the pastoral and charitable work of the Holy Metropolis of Arusha, supporting the blessed effort for the spiritual and educational upliftment of the children of Africa. With faith, hope, and love, we stand beside every child striving for a better tomorrow.
We sincerely thank the anonymous donor, whose quiet offering brought smiles to hundreds of children and honored the memory of his beloved ones. May their memory be eternal, and may God richly reward his generosity.
We wish all graduates a bright and blessed path ahead. With Christ as their guide, they can transform their world and become a support for those around them.
With faith in God, we continue.
