With feelings of spiritual joy and praise to the Triune God, the Missionary Shelter of Saint Dionysios of Olympus warmly welcomes the decision of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, which—following the proposal of His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodoros II—elevated the Holy Diocese of Arusha and Central Tanzania to the Holy Metropolis of Arusha.
His Eminence Metropolitan Agathonikos will now bear the title “of Arusha, Most Honorable and Exarch of Central Tanzania.”
Our Association, which for years has served and supported the pastoral and philanthropic ministry of His Eminence, considers this elevation an expression of Divine Grace and a fruit of his labor and tireless care for the Church in Central Tanzania. The Missionary Shelter of Saint Dionysios of Olympus assures that it will continue to stand as a supporter and companion of the Holy Metropolis of Arusha, supporting every aspect of the missionary work.
Sharing spiritually in this joy, we offer praise to our Lord Jesus Christ and pray that He may multiply the work and strengthen His Eminence in his efforts in the vineyard of Africa.
