In Central Tanzania, the Holy Metropolis of Arusha, with the unwavering support of the members and donors of our Association, bends down, like a mother to her child, to listen to the silent sighs of our suffering brothers and sisters, to wipe away their tears, and to offer love and hope to souls shaped by poverty and hardship. We place special emphasis on children and education.
Within the framework of this ministry, the nuns of the Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael in Kindamali, silent workers of love, traversed dusty roads to reach the children of the Prophet Elijah parish in the village of MafuLuto and the neighboring village of Sasamambo. Upon hearing of their arrival, the children came to the Holy Church to meet them. With motherly affection, the nuns distributed school supplies, bags, shoes, and school uniforms to students of both elementary and middle school.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the generosity of:
- The graduates of the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University, in memory of their beloved professor Markos Avlonitis
- An anonymous donor for the health of Fofó and Nikolaos
- An anonymous donor for the health of Alexandros and his family
In the Orthodox Church, the pain of loss and the anxiety over health are transformed into acts of love, which can embrace even children living thousands of kilometers away.
Missionary work is not merely a humanitarian effort but a living testimony of Christ. It is the opening of the Church’s arms to every person, the sowing of the Gospel through love, service, and sacrifice. By the Grace of God and through the intercessions of Saint Dionysios of Olympus, may we continue to embrace every child in Africa with our love and prayers, wrapping their dreams with hope and dignity.
