A Student’s Gift to the Children of Africa

I felt a deep sense of emotion today from the wonderful gesture of a student from Litohoro, who chose to share part of his monetary award with children in Africa through our association, “Missionary Shelter.” Many congratulations are also due to his teacher, who, through her integrity, love, and example, cultivates in her students’ hearts the most beautiful feelings of generosity and solidarity. We thank them both wholeheartedly and congratulate them for this deeply moving act of humanity.

Letter from the Teacher to the Missionary Shelter

“Dear Fathers,

The student from the “Kyritsis” Language Center, Vasilis Vasilas, is this year’s recipient of the “E. Papadopoulou Grant,” which was established in 2020 in honor of the founder of our school, Mrs. Elisavet Papadopoulou-Dokouzi. Vasilis decided to donate part of his tuition award to the Mission of Saint Dionysius. With joy and great respect for your work, we offer this money, on behalf of Vasilis and myself as his English teacher, and we wish you strength and Divine Inspiration in your philanthropic mission. In turn, we humbly ask you to pray for Vasilis, his family, and for the entire world, without exception, to the Virgin Mary and our God.
